What got us to start?
We were as excited as you were to get a brand new Model 3 Performance. Though quickly became disappointed once we drove away once realizing how loud the car was even at low speeds.
We've done plenty of sound deadening and soundproofing projects in the past on our cars, but they always involved a ton of guesswork, excess material, not knowing exactly what to buy, and wading through pages and pages of misinformation or andecotal evidence of improvements.
So we set out to attack the problems like engineers do. Recorded audio, analyzed frequencies, reviewed datasheets of 3M acoustical materials, determined thicknesses, coverage, and amounts of material. Applied it, tested it, and then validated it.
What is the diffeence?
There is no shortage of deep detailed discussions about sound proofing. Lots of pictures and disucssions buried in forums. But we noticed that no one provided a comprehensive guide specific to Tesla vehicles on exactly what and where to place materials.
So we set out to not only provide a pre-built kit, but also the easiest and clearest instructions on exactly what to do so that even if you never worked on a car before, you can feel confident to take on these projects.
